Wrong Square stated Lightning is NOT the main character, and may not even be a playable character at all.

The only thing in common between the games is Fabula Nova Crystallis, latin for "new tales of the crystal".. Meaning each story will be about crystals.

FF Versus 13 will be more like an action/rpg similar to Kingdom Hearts and have a darker story then the other ff13's.
