Read 'em before you criticize, Nadie. For all its supposed complicity, it has a certain sort of...innocence that draws me. It's incredibly sweet, in my opinion.
Hey, I had almost the same exact reaction when I first saw 'em. It's like, omg, that gets soooo old. And yes, doesn't she know better? She's an idiot. She knows that. >_> Read the book. Promise it's not like Forrest Gump. XD Though now that I think of it it does have some minor elements that could be compared to that... But then I started working at my local library, and I noticed how we had like 17 copies in our entire system, and it's such a thick book, and there were NONE on the shelves. Hello! Think about teenagers today--do they usually sit down to read a 500 page book? NO! So I started thinking, "Heck, there's gotta be something special about these books." So I checked the first one out and read it and got hooked. ;)
btw, it's Stephenie Meyer. No A's involved. >_>
They're really awesome books...I wish you would give them a chance. By not doing so, you could be missing out on something really great for you. I'm just saying.
Love ya, Nadie! Someday I hope you'll give it a shot :)
