Well yes, the Black Mages is Nobuo Uematsu's band, and they played the song, then for the english version, it was simply this Bill Muir guy who did the vocals of the song in english. The Black Mages have done several FF songs, and even had a live concert playing some of them, like J-E-N-O-V-A for example. At their second live called "Above the Sky" they also played Otherworld live. (although it sucked cause they had a woman do the vocals then, it's on youtube)
There is rumors that says Rammstein did the song, but these rumors are false, there is no song in Rammstein's discography called Otherworld. The rumors appeared after someone named the song "Rammstein - Otherworld" and made it download able at Limewire. Since it's similar to Rammstein songs, some then believed it. xP but all in all.
