Default Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology

I didn't see a PSP or Namco section in the forums, so I figured it would be best to post it in this forum. Move it as you see fit.

A must have for any classic Tales fan, or anyone who has fallen in love with the series. The majority of characters featured in the game are from Tales of Destiny, which was a game on the playstation 1 that had a 2D battle system. However, Tales of the World is in 3D, so you're able to play as your favorite Tales characters. While not all characters from every Tales game is in this game, quite a few of them are, and are as follows:

Tales of Destiny

Leon Magnus
Stahn Alieron
Rutee Katrea
(while the below characters do make an appearance, they're not useable.)
Garr Kelvin
Philia Felice

I was really amazed that Garr wasn't useable in battle because he was quite the arse in Tales of Symphonia's coliseum.

Tales of Symphonia

Kratos Aurion
Lloyd Irving
Raine Sage
Genis Sage

Tales of Eternia
Reid Herschel

I was disappointed that Meredy and Farah weren't included in the game either, though they already had game models from the PS2 tales games. In Symphonia, they both fought alongside Garr and were major *****es. D:

Perhaps they're saving them for a Tales of the World II?

Tales of Phantasia
Arche Klein
Chester Burklight

Tales Legendia

Senel Coolidge

Tales of Rebirth

Annie Barrs
Eugene Gallardo

As far as my knowledge goes, this game never came to US or UK shores and stayed in Japan. It's doubtful a release for it will be made in US or UK if it hasn't been done already.

Tales of the Abyss

Luke Fon Fabre, otherwise known as the Scion of Light, Asch's clone.
Tear Grants

I thought it was really horrible that Luke was in Tales of the World, but not any other character from TotA. He's seriously one of the crappiest whiney emo characters to have ever faced the world of gaming.

Gameplay was rather good, but the controls were very strange at first. Since I was most used to playing Tales of Symphonia, I had a hard time getting the controls down and playing the game correctly.

In quite a few events when I tried to guard, I was firing off double demon fang like a crazy sunofa*****.

Free run has to be the greatest invention in the entire Tales series, so I'm glad they added it to Tales of the World. Basically gives the game a more 3D feel opposed to where you could only run in a straight line in Tales of Symphonia.

Another great part of the game is that you get to choose what your character looks like, and you can customize their appearance by buying or getting drops of new equipment and equipping it.

Sad thing is that if your character has anything to say, it's just a menu that lets you select two different sentences that hardly effect the game in any way. Oh, they also occasionally say "...." and "...?", but that's all. You don't even get a voice in cutscenes.

Since the game is basically like an English Tales of Fandom(which btw is all in Japanese. >:C), there isn't really a solid story. On top of that, you can't complete the story without taking missions, which is one of the annoying things about the game. To beat the game, you've got to take the a mission to go and fight the final boss. To complete any part of the story, you have to take the allotted mission to complete that part of it.

There are also Fame Points, which allow you to do Storyline missions once you have enough of them. There are only a few storyline missions, so it can get pretty boring collecting Fame Points so you can do the next one. :\
