Aeris or Aerith

I read something about this.... but I'm not really sure...

Squaresoft said that originally was Aerith.... and she was supposed to have that name.... but I don't know what happened and when they release the game... the name was Aeris...

In my opinion... I think is better as Aeris... sounds better... for me....

Now in KH she's known as Aerith.... not Aeris...... on FFVIIAC... well... they never tell her name....

well I guess I'd have to say i like Aeris more Than Aerith but it really doesn't bother me that much seeing as I didn't really like her that Much.......... No Yelling at me about it.. she just didn't do it for me , But still a cool Character and the most Useful

Doesn't matter to me, one could of just been a mistranslation or a nickname.
Kind of like Squall being called Leon in KH..

well... yeah...... at first I didn't care much either.... maybe it was a writing error.... but in a hole game.... I found it weird.

It doesn't matter much either but.... for me... is Aeris

I do actually like the name Aerith, but Aeris is better. Sometimes, though, I switch back and forth between names ^^;

I think Aerith was her Japanese name, and even though they weren't suppose to change it, I think they still did to Americanize it or something...

It's crazy that you're mentioning this because I was also wondering this. I too like Aeris better. And when checking Google to see which was correct I was not corrected and given a link to the right spelling of the name when I put either in.

but however is spelled..... She's still the same known character who Sephiroth killed and everone suffered a lot about that.., but Aeris is Aeris....

Exactly.;)

In the original Japanese version of FF VII her name is Aerith. (That's why I prefer that name. It was what she was first called).

And like you said, I'm sure that's why they changed her name to Aeris: as part of the localization process.
