Yeah. Cause I'm not payin that much for a freakin PS3! Xbox all the way, in my opinion! Especially not just so that I could play Final Fantasy! (and mgs4) I'm glad they're releasing it for Xbox this time, as well as PC. So that Nobody HAS to buy a PS3 to play it! Now if only the dudes who made Metal Gear Solid coul;d get with the mutha****in program and do the same thing, things would be good!

Yeah, that's true, but to be honest they've messed around with so much other stuff, I feel like they can just do what they want, and if it's rubbish then I'll just forget it ever existed.
FF12 was the first ff I bought at full price, owing to circumstance :P, and so Square Enix decided to make that the game in which they murdered the battle system, ripped off star wars- BADLY, forgot that games were supposed to be fun, forgot that RPGs were supposed to have a story (that wasn't star wars- the boring edition), forgot that characters were supposed to have character, got a rubbish character designer (*cough* Vaan! Penelo! Basch's Frilly Apron With Rubix Cube! *cough*), put in music which you can't hum to... (why did you quit, Uematsu??? WHY??!!)
Yeah, I'm not an FF12 fan.:P
So, anyway, after that atrocity, I reckon they'll do a remake of ff7 anyway, and it'll prolly be the pits, so I'm conditioning myself not to care if it's bad, and to be thrilled if it's actually good... And Crisis Core was quite good, so I guess there's a slight possibility...
But Uematsu has to come back if they're updating the music.

Actually, they said that the reason they HAVEN'T started making a remake was because they wanted to have all the original creators, so that they DIDN'T RUIN what made the original so special! And I remember in the "Making of Advent children" thing I watched, they said that they all had a special interest in Final Fantasy 7, because it was the first final Fantasy that they made in this form and it was kind of a first for ll of them, so many of them wouldn't DARE want to ruin it.
They just gotta get all the original people on board. Soi unless something happens to one of the original creators, they'll probably do it eventually.

I bet the game is going to be multi-platform if they ever do make it, as that's the trend now days, since games cost A LOT more money to make than they use to, and having them on multiple platforms obviously brings in more money.

A remake would be awesome.. I'd love to revisit the world of Final Fantasy, with far better graphics that immerse you far more into the world, and go through the epic story once again. That would be nice if they added more to the game too, like more status effects, materias, and perhaps even add more to the story/world, making the game even more epic!

But Uematsu has to come back if they're updating the music.

If by update you mean remix or replace, then I certianly hope they don't do that, even if they get the same composer for it.. That would really mess with the feel of the game and make it a lot less like the original. However, I wouldn't mind if they added in more music and more places.

Squar has officialy claimed they are not going to do a remake of FFVII. If you notice nintendo is the one doing all the remakes.

yep sorry to say this but gg is right, there is no ff7 remake in planning (at this time)
