Dear TimeZone. I believe in God because the Universe without him didn't make sence. Using a simple scientific law you can believe in this brother. Action and Reaction. All in the world have a origin, and this origin was an action. The reaction of the God's action is you and me, and all Universe. But you can ask to me: And what was the action to the God result? God don't have a begin or an end. God are above this. He is infinite. I hope you understand.

I personally don't believe in god/gods. Most people say god is infinate, but EVERYTHING has to begin. It is inphathomable to think of something without a beginning or an end. People go crazy at the mear thought of there not being a God. I mean, I wouldn't mind if there was one, but I couldn't think of anything that doesn't begin or end. Even pure thought has a beginning and end.

ACtually, Zombie, thought is the mind at work. The mind needs to "start" to create thought. That is the beginning. The end of thought is, as you said, once the person is dead.(This is limited to one single person)

On the whole God thing, I respect your option. And I do know that I may be wrong now, but I guess I will find out when I die.

Also, if you have heard this phrase, "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction". Yes this is usually based off of science, but it was also thought of as philosophy. As said, everything has a beginning and end. Time couldn't be forever...(as in God couldn't have always been) unless created by an equal/opposite reaction. Again, it is unphathomable to even begin to try to concieve the first "thing, person" in/before creation. Most believe it is very simple, that God has always been and will always be, but there is no basis(didn't say scientific basis) for the fact/option.

To live forever would be hell itself to me. I am a man of science and it's easy to see that the age of science has progressed humankind forward. Our minds our so complex, we cannot foresee the end of our own existence. Religion gives comfort to be people, but I am so well-read up on things, that's it's impossible to deny that science exist out there. It cannot fully explain everything, but it helps lives our lives to much more full. I would not want to die ignorant of things... for example... the wrong religion. The irony is Christianity is just as violent as the others, but has been toned down due to separation of church versus state and the respect of others religions.

well when i heard this it made sence to me
god is an interseting concept. god needs faith to truely exist in our hearts, minds, and souls. some people want hard core proof of his existance, but if they had there proof why would we need faith. and with out faith he couldnt exist. so the only way to prove/disprove god is to have faith.

As you said Zombie, I can't prove that God doesn't exist, but so far, none have DEFINATE PROOF that he/she does or has ever existed. people give him/her life through religion. All material things are material things but what of the material things? If god created the universe, then what is god to the universe? I know the whole alpha and omega thing, but there should be substance for substances sake.(Do you get what I just said?)

On the Equal but opposite reaction, it is my view of all forces. Say you are walking down the street, your feet give off energy into the ground, which moves you forward with an opposite reaction.

The force(energy) from the ground moves you forward. If the force was less(which is has never occured) Theory says you would fall through the ground(Not like a cloud, slowly) If the force is too great, then you would bounce around everywhere.

There needs to be an equal but opposite reaction to become anything, even thought. To have created the universe, "god" would have had to create a reaction.
He, God, is the equal reaction. the opposite would be the creation of the universe. Hence, God would have to exist.

Now I know that this sounds like I disproved my own point, but continue reading.

If God now exists from this equal / opposite reaction, then he IS bound by time and energy. Even if he is to live for 1,000,000,000,000,000 years old, he is still under confindment. This disproves the fact that he isn't bound by space and time. He has to be something. This would disprove your statement and create a new realm of discussion.

The definition of the proof that you're talking about depends of your creed. In this case, you're atheu, then it's good to you to think why some things are real or not to you. Now i know whats bound! Sorry for my poor english! Well, your explanation is no sence to me! I understand the action/reaction with other way, like a complexy web... Plus, your example indirect talks about pression, impulse, gravity and time, and other things, certainly. You're using an material example, in this case, the step and the ground. Action/Reaction law are applicaded in energy too. In all things. Now is good to think: " Whats/Who's God?", to just TRY to know something about Him, then, TRY to understand Your creations and existence. Feelings, ideias... The reaction for the Hironobu "ideia" of Final Fantasy are that speech. An immaterial thing, the ideia, make we write these replies in an relacioned forum of the ideia. He, ( Hironobu ) affect our lifes with your existence, like God. This is not a comparation. Now, to me, this would disprove your statement and create a new realm of discussion. What's/Who's God? And, yes, this is part of the discussion. Understanding, or acepting "temporaly" your existence, we can explain some things, and, proves Your existence.
